In the year 2000, the Foundation for the Development of the National Protected Areas System (Fundesnap) began its activities in administrative management, planning and financial engineering, financial capture and mobilization, capacity building for financial administration, development and support of inter-institutional cooperation networks, as well as implementation of specific programs and projects in accordance with the institutional objective; all of this to support the National Protected Areas System of Bolivia (SNAP). Fundesnap administers several trust funds that allow it to fulfill its aforementioned mission objectives.
