RedLAC and Enduring Earth Sign Memorandum of Understanding at COP16 to Strengthen Conservation in Latin America and the Caribbean

Cali, Colombia, November 28 – The Latin American and Caribbean Environmental Funds Network (RedLAC) and Enduring Earth have formalized a strategic partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing long-lasting conservation outcomes in the region. This agreement marks a mutual commitment to maximize the impact of conservation through the combination of global and regional expertise in sustainable financing.
The primary purpose of the agreement is to: Facilitate knowledge exchange between both organizations, promoting best practices in conservation financing, with a special focus on expanding sustainable financing mechanisms in areas where RedLAC implements its long-term funding programs; and strengthen the institutional capacities of RedLAC’s member Conservation Trust Funds, increasing their resilience and adaptability to the conservation challenges in the region.
This collaboration between RedLAC and Enduring Earth seeks to create mutual benefits, leveraging Enduring Earth’s global scaling PFP approach and RedLAC’s deep regional experience. This combination will strengthen conservation impacts in a lasting way, aligned with both local and international goals, such as the 30% terrestrial conservation target for 2030, as established in the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework under the Convention on Biological Diversity. To ensure the effectiveness of joint activities, RedLAC and Enduring Earth commit to developing a monitoring and evaluation framework to track the progress made under the MoU. This framework will be included as an annex to the agreement and will form an integral part of it.
The signing of the document was conducted by Jorge Oviedo, Executive Director of FIAES and President of RedLAC, and Zdenka Pizkulich, CEO of Enduring Earth. The MoU will be valid for one year from the date of signing, with the possibility of renewal through written agreement by both parties. This partnership represents an important step toward building capacity and strengthening efforts for biodiversity conservation in Latin America and the Caribbean.
