Tulum +20 Declaration for the Mesoamerican Reef; wellbeing and blue economy

Two RedLAC members, Mar Fund y FMCN, along with Healthy Reefs for Healthy People are organizing a session that will review the achievements in conservation and sustainable use of coastal and marine resources in the Mesoamerican Reef since the Declaration of Tulum in 1997. It will emphasize the strong partnerships between civil society, local and national governments, academia, international CSOs and regional mechanisms as drivers of change. It will also highlight the current threats to the Mesoamerican Reef and how the Blue Economy can be adopted as a path towards well-being. Ministers of the four countries adjacent to the Mesoamerican Reef, led by the Mexican Minister of Environment will be invited to endorse the Tulum +20 Declaration.
