RedLAC Strengthens Its Governance During the 2nd Ordinary Session of the Executive Committee in El Salvador
San Salvador, April 25, 2025 – The Executive Committee of the Latin American and Caribbean Network of Environmental Funds (RedLAC) held its second Ordinary Session of the year in El Salvador—a strategic gathering that brought together the Executive Directors of the Mexican Fund for the Conservation of Nature, Fondo Naturaleza Chile, Fundación para la Conservación del Bosque Chiquitano, Foragua, Fondo Acción, and the Environmental Investment Fund of El Salvador. Each of these funds is part of the 2025 Executive Committee. The session was held as part of RedLAC’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its governance and align its priorities for 2025.
Throughout the working sessions, committee members addressed key topics aimed at institutional strengthening, including strategies to promote growth, financial sustainability, and legal consolidation—solidifying RedLAC’s role as a high-impact regional network. Detailed planning for the upcoming RedLAC Congress 2025 in Chile was also discussed.
Each session marked a turning point for the network, resulting in achievable agreements that will allow RedLAC to operate with greater institutional solidity and amplify its impact on the conservation of the region’s critical ecosystems. The outcomes of this session will directly feed into the implementation of the new governance framework and the call for the RedLAC Congress 2025.
Ultimately, RedLAC reaffirms its role as a key platform for financial mechanisms that mobilize resources and best practices in conservation across Latin America and the Caribbean.
