FUNBIO - Brazilian Fund for Biodiversity
The Brazilian Biodiversity Fund (FUNBIO) is a private, non-profit national institution that works in partnership with government, business and civil society to effectively mobilize and deploy strategic and financial resources for biodiversity conservation. Since it began operations in 1996, FUNBIO has supported more than 400 projects benefiting more than 300 institutions.

Among FUNBIO's main activities are the financial management of projects, design of financial mechanisms and studies on new sources of funding for conservation, as well as the procurement of goods and services for its portfolio of projects. In 2015 it became a GEF accredited agency and, three years later, a GCF agency. In 2018, FUNBIO adopted IFC's Environmental and Social Sustainability Policy.
