Foundation for the Conservation of Natural Resources and Environment in Guatemala
FCG was established on March 27, 2000 as a private, non-profit, non-partisan, non-political organization with conservation, ecological, scientific, educational, technological and cultural purposes, with legal personality and capacity to acquire rights, incur obligations and carry out the activities necessary to achieve its purposes.
Since its creation in 2000, the fundamental purpose of FCG has been to become a financial mechanism to facilitate the management and administration of funds for the conservation of biodiversity and the environment in the country. Since its authorization to operate, FCG has accumulated two decades of successful experience in managing funds for third parties. Its mission is to be an organization that supports inclusive conservation initiatives, sustainable development of natural and socio-cultural heritage and adaptation to climate change in Guatemala and the Mesoamerican region, through the provision and efficient and transparent management of resources and technical assistance to related organizations.
