RedLAC Strengthens Its Governance During the 2nd Ordinary Session of the Executive Committee in El Salvador
San Salvador, April 25, 2025 – The Executive Committee of the Latin American and Caribbean Network of Environmental Funds (RedLAC) held its second Ordinary Session of the year in El Salvador. This strategic meeting brought together the Executive Directors of CTFs: the Mexican Fund for the Conservation of Nature, Fondo Naturaleza Chile, the Foundation for the Conservation of the Chiquitano Forest, Foragua, Fondo Acción, and the Environmental Investment Fund of El Salvador—all of whom are serving on the 2025 Executive Committee. The session was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the network’s governance and align priorities for 2025.
During the working sessions, Executive Committee members addressed key topics for RedLAC’s institutional future, including:
• Updates to the membership model and growth strategies
• Progress in the transition toward RedLAC Inc. as a legally established entity
• Detailed planning for the upcoming RedLAC Congress 2025 in Chile
• Mechanisms to enhance transparency and accountability
• Analysis of strategic partnerships and funding opportunities
Each session marked a turning point for the network, leading to actionable agreements that will help RedLAC operate with greater institutional strength and expand its impact on the conservation of critical ecosystems across the region.
The outcomes of this session will directly inform the implementation of RedLAC’s new governance framework and the call for the 2025 RedLAC Congress.
RedLAC continues to reaffirm its role as a key platform for financial mechanisms that mobilize resources and best practices for conservation throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.
