Reforestation success! FCBT Paraguay joins the fight for the conservation of the planet.

Asunción, Paraguay - In an effort to preserve and restore natural ecosystems, the Taguato/Sauco indigenous community, in collaboration with PRO COSARA field technicians, has carried out an outstanding planting of 2000 seedlings of native species in the San Rafael - Tekoha Guasu National Park Reserve. This significant activity is part of the Restoration Plan of the "Sustainable San Rafael" project.

The species selected for planting include inga'i, pink lapacho, guayaibi, kurupa'yra, guatambú, black parrot, pitanga and inga guasu. These native species are essential for maintaining biodiversity and recovering degraded areas, as they are perfectly adapted to the local environment.

Planting native trees is a key strategy to counteract the effects of climate change and conserve our valuable natural resources. In addition to sequestering carbon and contributing to climate regulation, native forests are home to a rich diversity of flora and fauna, playing a crucial role in the preservation of ecosystems.

The Taguato/Sauco community, in collaboration with PRO COSARA, has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to the conservation of San Rafael. This reforestation initiative not only helps restore degraded areas, but also strengthens community ties and promotes active participation in the protection of our environment.

"We are really excited about the success of this reforestation initiative in the San Rafael - Tekoha Guasu National Park Reserve," said Martin Roman, executive director of FCBT_Paraguay. "It is inspiring to see how the indigenous community and PRO COSARA experts are working together to preserve our natural resources and promote sustainability."

At RedLAC, a network of Latin American and Caribbean organizations dedicated to biodiversity conservation, we are proud to highlight successful projects like this one, where local action generates a positive impact on the environment. We recognize the commitment and dedication of the Taguato/Sauco community and PRO COSARA in the protection and restoration of ecosystems in Paraguay.

Let's continue working together to #ConsolidateSanRafael and build a sustainable future for all. Reforestation and nature conservation are tasks for all of us, and it is essential to join forces to ensure a healthy and balanced environment for present and future generations.
