Forest conservation experts united in the First Virtual Conversatory on Fund Management!


In an unprecedented effort to safeguard our valuable forests, the First Virtual Conversatory on Experiences in Forest Fund Management recently took place. This exciting event, organized by the National Forestry Development Fund (Fonabosque) of Bolivia, brought together leading forest sector actors from different countries in the region to share their experiences and knowledge in the management of forest funders' funds.

This virtual discussion brought together leading organizations dedicated to tropical forest conservation. Among the participants was the Tropical Forest Conservation Fund, whose extensive experience in financing forestry projects has been internationally recognized. In addition, Fundación Natura Panama, the Protected Areas Trust Guyana and Fonafifo of Costa Rica contributed their valuable knowledge in the management of forest funds.

The main premise of this unprecedented event was to provide a platform for the exchange of experiences and analysis of financing mechanisms, schemes and models used in the management of resources for forestry projects in the region. During the enriching sessions, participants explored innovative strategies and shared best practices to address current challenges in forest conservation.

This virtual conversation is an important milestone for the forestry sector. It provides an opportunity to learn from each other and establish strong partnerships to ensure the preservation of our forests. The active participation of governmental, non-governmental and private sector organizations in this event highlights the importance of integrated collaboration to address environmental challenges. Participants also highlighted the relevance of involving local communities in the management of forest funds, as well as the need for greater transparency and impact assessment in the projects financed.

The success of this first virtual discussion on forest fund management paves the way for future collaborative initiatives in this crucial field. Forest sector stakeholders agreed to continue the dialogue and foster cooperation to develop effective strategies to ensure the protection and conservation of our forests.

With the hope of a greener future, these conservation leaders have shown that together we can make a difference. The First Virtual Conversatory on Experiences in Forest Fund Management has left an indelible mark on the road to a more sustainable world.
